The Last Routine

Set over the course of a single pivotal day, The Last Routine chronicles the final 24 hours in the life of legendary Slovak figure skater Ondrej Nepela. Revered as a national hero and celebrated around the world for his athletic brilliance, Nepela privately struggles under the suffocating pressures of life in Communist Czechoslovakia. Longing for personal freedom and the chance to live openly, he finds himself trapped between public expectations and private desires. As state authorities intensify their scrutiny and exploit his vulnerabilities, Ondrej is forced to confront impossible choices about love, identity, and the price of freedom in a society determined to control both.
