Under My Dark Skin (Bajo Mi Piel Morena)

Morena is a trans woman who lives together with her elderly mother. They keep a very respectful and loving relationship. Morena has been working in a textile factory for several years and has a good life and two good friends who are also trans. Claudia, who is a teacher, has just gotten her first job as substitute teacher bringing with it all the hardships that come with the lack of understanding of trans people in the educational setting. Another is the very young and beautiful Myriam, immersed in a maelstrom of excesses linked to prostitution with police protection. The happy existence of Morena is uprooted when she discovers that Ricardo, her current partner, has lied to her from the first moment. When she finds out he is married and is the father of two children, she decides to end the relationship. It is these stories that propel Under My Dark Skin as Director José Celestino Campusano continues his exploration of the conflicts that are faced by characters pushed to inhabit the margins of society.
