Peter Tchaikovsky is regarded as Russia's most famous composer, celebrated as a national hero even though he was gay, a taboo in Russia. The film radically transfers Tchaikovsky into the present and draws a beautiful and emotional psychological portrait. At the core is Tchaikovsky's fate, being at the mercy of a homophobic environment as a gay man. The composer's struggle with his homosexuality, the serious consequences of his crisis, the fusion of life and work, and the mysterious circumstances of his death are retold within modern scenarios.

Young street vendor Soe Ko lives in a small village in Myanmar. He is in love with Saing Ko, a quiet mason from another village. They want to marry, but in Myanmar homosexuality, let alone same-sex marriage, isn’t accepted. However, in this village there is a small circle that supports the two and vow to help them get married. Housewives prepare a wedding meal and Buddhist monks perform the official ceremony. The wedding culminates in an exuberant celebration that shows that love refuses to be oppressed no matter where you live.
